Our Instructors & Staff Members

Our staff members have spent many years devoted to pursuing excellence in their field and have attained a certain level of expertise to qualify them as instructors and trainers. Through extensive training, certification and dedication, our staff has attained mastery in their fields and now enjoy sharing their skill and passing it on to our members. Here are a few of Dazzle Dance & Cheer's staff members:

Betsy Curry, co-owner and artistic director, celebrates her 12th year with Dazzle. She started dancing at the age of 6 and spent 12 years training in jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop, tumbling, modern, lyrical, pointe, acting, and voice with the Dance Magic Performing Arts Company in Indianapolis. Betsy attended Ball State University as a dance major. At Ball State, she was a member of the Ball State Dance Theatre and performed and choreographed for numerous shows. Betsy continues her dance training through the guest artists Dazzle brings in and going to conventions. Through the years, Betsy’s students have won numerous awards regionally and nationally. Betsy is so honored to be a member of the Dazzle family and sharing her passion and knowledge of dance with her students.

 

Laura DuBois, co-owner and artistic director, celebrates her 15th year with Dazzle. She currently works as an LPN at Open Door Health Services. She started dancing at the age of 3 and at the age of 5 began dancing competitively. As a member of her dance company, Laura appeared twice of the nationally televised Showstopper Dance Championships. In the summer of 2003, she trained in the New York Stage Originals Program. She has also trained with professionals from dance conventions such as Co. Dance, Hollywood Connection, and Hollywood Vibe. She has two daughters, Anna and Adalyn, and a son, Adam.

  

Katie Lee is 21 years old and is studying Zoology, Wildlife Biology Conservation, and Aquatic Biology at Ball State University. She has 8 years of Cheerleading experience with 4 years of competitive cheer and 4 years of tumbling. She competed for her high school and for Cheer Fusion and has won several national titles. She also cheered for Ball State University during her first year. She has been coaching tumbling and competitive cheer for 3 years and loves to see her students gain new skills and keep aiming higher.

 

April Morrison began dancing at the age of 3 and did so competitively for ten years. She has appeared on the Showstopper national television show twice and choreographed productions of “Once Upon a Mattress” and “The King and I” at Yorktown High School. She has also been the dance coordinator of the Frankton Jr./Sr. High School color guard team. April is the proud mom of her two wonderful children, Isla and Declan.

 

Clarice Nolan is from Washington, Indiana. She began her dance training at the age of 3 in the styles of ballet, tap, and jazz and has gained experience in pointe, lyrical, hip-hop, ballroom, and modern dance as well. Seeking further instruction in ballet, she went on to study as a member of a traveling performing arts company in Evansville, IN. She has performed throughout Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky in various soloist roles as well as a part of the corps de ballet in The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Alice in Wonderland, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She then moved to Evansville Ballet to further her classical training, performing in their ballets Nutcracker and Peter Pan, dancing among professionals from Nashville Ballet, Dance Kaleidoscope, and Grand Rapids Ballet, just to name a few. Clarice furthers her dance training today as a dance minor at Ball State University where she is also pursuing a bachelors and masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

 

Brooke Rees is 19 years and is currently attending Ivy Tech to be a surgical technician. She started dancing at Dazzle when she was 4 and continued until she graduated high school. Throughout her years of dancing she won the Sweetheart award two years in a row, had the opportunity to try out for the Laker Girls, Stiletto Entertainment, The Movement Talent Agency, and was chosen to participate in the icon of the year competition. Brooke has also been an Indiana Pacemate for 2 seasons now, and performs alongside the Pacers at their games. She has trained in and teaches jazz, lyrical, tap, ballet, and hip-hop. This will be Brooke’s second year teaching at Dazzle.

 

Julie Sizemore, the founder of Dazzle Dance & Cheer, celebrates her 20th season with Dazzle. She was been teaching dance for over 25 years. Her students have achieved the highest honors, both regionally and nationally. Julie also has many theatrical credits including choreography and performance in the musicals Grease, Hello Dolly, The Sound of Music, Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, Annie, South Pacific, and Tommy, just to name a few! Julie received a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications and marketing from Ball State University.
